’40s
Clara Lemm Brogan, C’45, Concord, N.H., received the annual Elizabeth Yates Award from the Concord Public Library Foundation because of her work inspiring young people to read. Clara, 94, goes twice a month to read to the children at Christa McAuliffe School.
’50s
Dolores Brinkel, SCL, C’53, Butte, Mont., retired and returned to Leavenworth, Kan., and the Sisters of Charity Mother House after spending the last 20 years in Montana, serving as an archivist at St. James Healthcare in Butte and the Archivist for the Diocese of Helena.
’60s
Catherine Staley Vesce, C’66, Overland Park, Kan., had her art on display at the Thornhill Art Gallery at Avila University, as part of the Re: Generation-Layers Exhibition.
Judy Vasos, C’66, Oakland, Calif., published a novel entitled “My Dear Good Rosi, Letters from Nazi-occupied Holland, 1940-1943.” The novel tells the story of her husband’s maternal grandparents, Hugo and Clemy Mosbacher, and their efforts to escape Nazi persecution.
Terry Stremel, C’68, Leawood, Kan., was recipient of the 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award—Sister Mary Mark Orr Pioneer Spirit Award.
